To drive our continuous organic growth, we are constantly looking for highly qualified professionals. To strengthen our team in Global IT, we are looking for a dedicated PI Data Historian System Engineer (f/m/d), 80 - 100%.
Your tasks:
•
Manage the full system lifecycle: development, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of the PI Data Historian System.
•
Administer a 24/7 operational PI System, ensuring high availability and performance.
•
Lead change, incident, and problem management in collaboration with IT / OT, cross-functional stakeholders, and end users.
•
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to data collection, storage, and retrieval.
•
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
•
Translate customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
•
Design, implement, and optimize data historian solutions, including integration with equipment, control systems and third-party applications.
•
Conduct performance analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
•
Design and configure complex data tags tailored to project / business needs.
•
Develop custom interfaces and connectors to enhance data integration.
•
Collaborate with other departments and external vendors.
•
Create and maintain comprehensive GMP-compliant documentation across the system lifecycle.
•
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) during audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with internal, industry and regulatory standards.
Your profile:
•
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•
At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in system design, implementation, and technical project leadership.
•
Proven experience with the AVEVA PI Data Historian system.
•
Strong background in managing and administering production-critical applications.
•
Familiarity with hosting, networking, and cybersecurity principles is a plus.
•
Experience with Computerized System Validation (CSV), compliance, and data integrity.
•
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
•
In-depth knowledge of data integration and historian system architecture.
•
Understanding of industrial/manufacturing processes and automation systems.
•
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation of tasks and workflows.
•
Experience with data contextualization, visualization, and reporting platforms.
•
Fluent English and good German knowledge required.
