On behalf of our client, an international organization, we are seeking an experienced accountant to provide support for a 4-month assignment.

Accountant 100% (NetSuite)

The Finance team requires temporary reinforcement to clear the initial accounting backlog and ensure all financial records are complete and compliant. In parallel, the Accountant will provide remote support and hands-on guidance to a new colleague in the Brussels office who requires training in our client accounting procedures and the NetSuite system.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-Day Accounting

• Perform daily bookkeeping in NetSuite, ensuring accounting is done in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with procedures and principles;
• Record monthly payroll for the whole organisation.

Grant Accounting and Compliance

• Perform grant bookings from contract recognition through to revenue recognition;
• Provide support during grant audits, including preparation of documentation and liaison with auditors.

Monthly and Year-End Closure

• Perform monthly accounting closure transactions and controls, and prepare the related reports;

Brussels Office - Remote Training and Support

• Provide structured, hands-on remote training to the newly appointed accounting staff member in the Brussels office;
• Guide the Brussels colleague through accounting procedures, chart of accounts, and NetSuite workflows;
• Act as a day-to-day technical reference for the Brussels office during the onboarding period.

PROFILE

• At least 5 years of work experience in accounting;
• Experience with NetSuite mandatory;
• Knowledge of analytical accounting and familiarity with Swiss GAAP Accounting norms;
• Demonstrated strong skills in daily bookkeeping, accounting closure, internal controls required;
• Experience in revenue recognition and audit support highly desirable;
