Are you all in Don’t be shy, apply!Product Designer Trading - 8 months contract
  • Swissquote’s Trading tribe explores and validates opportunities before they hit delivery. You’ll operate as a Design Strategist: shaping problems, uncovering customer/jobs-to-bedone, and crafting clear, testable concepts and design briefs that enable Product Trading Managers and squads to execute with confidence. You’ll combine service design, product discovery, and prototyping to reduce risk early and align stakeholders around measurable outcomes. What you’ll do
  • Lead discovery for a trading domain (e. , onboarding/funding, order entry, charts & insights, portfolio/positions, corporate actions). Frame problems & opportunities: synthesize qual/quant signals, define target segments & jobs-to-be-done, articulate value hypotheses and success metrics. Concept development: create option sets (narratives, flows, storyboards, low-fi prototypes) and compare trade-offs, risks, and cost-to-build/operate. Design briefs that travel well: turn concepts into concise, unambiguous briefs with scope, hypotheses, acceptance criteria, KPIs, constraints (legal/compliance/ops), and dependencies. Service perspective: map journeys and service blueprints (frontstage/backstage), identify failure points, operational implications, and data needs. Evidence-driven decision-making: plan and run lightweight tests with the UX Researcher & Data (problem/solution fit, usability risk, desirability/viability/feasibility checks). Stakeholder facilitation: co-create with Product Trading Manager, Engineering, Compliance/Legal, Operations, and Customer Support; drive alignment and decisions. Design principles & guardrails: define patterns, standards, and “non-negotiables” for the trading experience; partner with Design System without owning UI craft. Outcome reporting: communicate insights, recommendations, and go/no-go proposals; establish learning goals per initiative and follow through post-launch with PM

QUALIFICATIONS

3–5+ years in product discovery/service design for complex web & mobile products; finance/trading/brokerage parcours professionnel is a strong plus. Proven ability to structure ambiguity, run discovery, and turn insights into clear, actionable briefs for delivery teams. Comfort with data and research: you know when to use qual vs. quant, can partner with researchers/analysts, and connect insights to business outcomes. Facilitation mastery: workshops (alignment, ideation, prioritisation), stakeholder interviews, and decision framing. Working fluency in Figma for low-fi artefacts and prototypes; strong documentation habits. Excellent communication: crisp narratives, visual thinking, and decision rationale tailored to execs, PMs, and engineers. Familiarity with financial services and regulated contexts (compliance, risk, auditability) and their impact on UX. English (required); French is a plus. Nice to have

  • Trading specifics: order types & states, market data constraints, latency/real-time UX, charting/analytics paradigms. Exposure to experiment design (A/B, fake-door, concierge) and opportunity sizing. Experience influencing a Design System via principles/pattern proposals (without owning visual UI). How we work (methods you’ll use) Double Diamond / Continuous Discovery to separate problem & solution risk. Jobs-to-be-Done to anchor scope and evaluate concepts. Service design (journeys/blueprints) to align customer value with operational feasibility. Prototyping as thinking (paper low-fi interactive) to learn fast, cheap. Decision logs and measurable hypotheses to keep discovery accountable.
