What you’ll do:

FISCHER USA's Youth Apprentice will be exposed to a variety of manufacturing processes. This team member will be responsible for learning beside a qualified machinist or journeyman on all aspects of manufacturing to include maintaining and servicing equipment, machine programming and operation, inspection equipment and techniques.

Learning Opportunities:

• Under direct supervision, assist with loading and unloading operation and set-up activities of a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machine(s) or manual manufacturing equipment.

• Learn how to read CNC programs, make necessary offsets, and machine parts to close tolerances.

• Remove sharp corners or edges from parts.

• Learn to read and comprehend blueprints and use Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

• Use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and the division of numbers including decimals and fractions.

• Responsible for inspection of his/her own work.

• Participate in efforts to continually improve processes.

• Must be willing to perform other tasks as required.

• Follow quality and safety rules.
