As CTO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technological vision, scaling our platforms, and empowering teams across the company while leading a talented, fully remote development team. A key focus of this role will be evolving our existing tech stack towards a more AI-driven technology landscape, enabling smarter, more automated, and more scalable products and processes. TASKS

1. Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and drive Neho’s technology vision and roadmap in line with business goals
  • Lead the design, development, and transformation of our internal platforms, CRM, and digital tools
  • Drive the strategic evolution of our core technology stack toward an AI-centric architecture, embedding machine learning and intelligent automation to enhance product value, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Lead architectural decisions across platforms, data, and cloud strategy
  • Establish best practices across software development, Dev
  • Ops, testing, and quality2. Leadership
  • Recruit senior engineers and engineering leaders as the organization scales
  • Lead and structure a fully remote team of 20 developers, provide guidance and develop internal leaders
  • Enable and support teams in adopting AI-driven approaches while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals3. Execution & Delivery Excellence
  • Ensure fast, reliable, and predictable delivery of product and platform initiatives
  • Establish effective delivery processes (Agile/Shape-Up/Hybrid) Remove blockers and manage cross-team dependencies
  • Hold teams accountable for outcomes, not just output4. Quality, Security & Operational Stability
  • Set standards for code quality, testing, and reviews
  • Own system reliability, monitoring, and incident response
  • Ensure security, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, SOC2, etc. where relevant) Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks as the platform scales5. Business & Stakeholder Alignment
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Work closely with CEO, Head of Product, and other leaders on priorities

  • What you bring
  • Essential5+ years of experience in leading remote tech teams in a CTO function or equivalent role
  • Strong track record working for startups or scale-ups with the ability to thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments
  • Passionate about leading, coaching and mentoring engineering teams, challenging technical decisions, identifying skill gaps, and driving continuous improvement in team performance and efficiency
  • Experience leading AI-driven projects or integrating AI into products or processes
  • Proven experience leading the evolution of technology platforms to improve productivity, efficiency, and engineering output
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand, evaluate, and guide engineering decisions
  • Demonstrated knowledge in managing and maintaining web-based CRM systems, ensuring smooth operation and supporting ongoing development and optimization
  • Results-driven with a strong commitment to achieving excellence and driving initiatives across the organization
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and work with management to define technology strategy, product roadmaps, and execution plans
  • Professional proficiency in English

  • Experience in transitions towards AI-driven systems or architectures
  • Expertise with PHP, Laravel at scale and react architecture
  • Knowledge of additional technologies listed in tech stack below
  • French or Romanian language skills
  • What you are working with
  • As our CTO, you will lead a sophisticated technology landscape that powers our platforms and digital products. While hands-on coding is not required, familiarity with some technologies would be beneficial. The current stack includes:Back-end:PHP with Laravel, including advanced features like service containers, facades, middleware, service providers, and optimized database interactions with Eloquent ORM (handling N+1 issues, eager loading, and scopes) Front-end:ReactJS for our CRMs and customer-facing experiences, plus NextJS for a recently acquired platformUI / Styling:Bootstrap (CSS framework) for responsive and scalable interfacesAPIs & Integrations:REST and GraphQL for seamless internal and external integrations
  • Background Processes & Queues:Redis, Horizon, and job queues for efficient, reliable asynchronous processing
