Job description
Casale SA is a leading firm that specializes in the design and implementation of innovative plants to produce green ammonia, ammonia, nitrates, phosphates, urea, methanol, melamine, and syngas.

In this frame, the company is currently seeking a dynamic Research Engineer to work with a passionate, detail-oriented, and international team on developing and maintaining our projects.
The position is within the Basic Research and reports to the Section Head.

Main Responsibilities and tasks:
• To interact with R&D and Stakeholders for planning the research activities

• Actively contribute to various R&D initiatives that demand meticulous planning, management of large-scale datasets, and in-depth data analysis

• Manage different research projects as project manager with external partners and with internal stakeholders and R&D Members

• Coordinate and Interact closely with the Lab Manager and Laboratory Technicians to plan and align laboratory activities effectively.

• Proactively oversee laboratory operations, offering timely feedback and troubleshooting support to ensure smooth execution and continuous improvement of experimental activities

• Provides technical leadership and instruction to technical staff and/or student employees engaged in the execution of related research

• To set up and lead R&D project on time and on budget to design laboratory experiments for mechanical tests, catalytic and non-catalytic reactions

• Oversee and coordinate catalyst development activities

• Oversee and coordinate chemical analysis processes, including the development of new analytical methods and strategic solutions for monitoring and optimizing chemical reactions

• To understand characterization (chemical and mechanical) of solid materials

• Coordinate complex mechanical and chemical laboratory experiments (including high pressure and high temperature)

• To perform data analysis of the results obtained from the laboratory tests

• digitalize work conducted in the lab and data analysis

• to write reports to be distributed to the R&D

• Involvement with/management of/ external research collaborations e.g. partner companies, academic institutions and research centers

Professional Skills
• Willingness to lead projects on advanced research involving external partners such as other companies and research institutions companies and research institutions

• Being able to accommodate workload with high degree of flexibility

• Practical experience in leading Education: M.Sc. or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry

• Experience in managing laboratory experiments that includes for instance workload planning, technical support, troubleshooting, delegation of tasks

• Extensive expertise in catalysis and catalyst properties, with a strong focus on strategic oversight and application in research and development contexts

• Good work experience in a similar position and good competence in conducting research projects in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and/or multiphase non catalytic reactions at high pressure

• Good ability to build relationships with universities and research institutes and keep updated with laboratory technologies and executing R&D project or basic but practical skills of project management

• Ability to interpret the requirements and propose and develop innovative solutions

Languages
