Your opportunity

As one of Scandit’s Product Engineers, you will work as part of the product squad to evaluate and build out our capabilities for capturing and validating ID documents. You will partner closely across the software engineering and product teams in an effort to develop new products and features as well as continuously optimize our existing products.

While working at the intersection of business and technology, you’ll ensure product performance and user experience to solve our customers' challenges. Based on a hypothesis-driven discovery approach with direct customer feedback, you’ll collect data and evidence to understand the challenges and product requirements in detail.

Responsibilities of a Product Engineer start from working with customers to understand their needs to building proof of concepts, and evaluating technical performance of existing products. All this to guarantee the data capture quality and performance is on an enterprise-grade level, at every stage of the development cycle.

As an ideal candidate, you have initial programming experience and you're interested in building functional prototypes and test setups with a strong focus on the user and customer needs. You’re data-driven and strive for a fast-paced evaluation. Communicating with technical or business stakeholders is part of your interests as well as discussing product specifications with the wider product team.

• Work closely together with engineering and the wider product team to define product quality metrics of prototypes and products.

• Build test systems for measuring quality and performance of new product features or improvements.

• Keep track of the evolution of ID document standards and implementations and derive product requirements.

• Evaluate and drive the analysis of customer feedback and requests.

Who we look for

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

• Strong customer focus and problem-solving skills.

• Programming experience at an engineering level.

• Interest in working on the intersection of engineering and business.

• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.

• Eligible to work in Finland and available to work at our Tampere office.
