Packaging Development Scientist :
Key Responsibilities :
• Contribute to the design, development, and industrialization of innovative packaging and device solutions for the company's OTC brands, from concept generation through to commercial launch.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, suppliers, and manufacturing sites to ensure the successful development of packaging solutions that meet performance, quality, regulatory, and market requirements.
• Develop technical expertise in areas such as nasal spray systems, plastic injection molding, and packaging component development to support the continued growth of the Nyon development center.
• Design, build, test, and optimize prototypes using CAD tools, 3D printing technologies, and other rapid prototyping techniques.
• Lead or support technical studies, testing programs, and data analyses to evaluate packaging and material performance, as well as product-packaging interactions.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of packaging decoration, printing, and finishing solutions (Print & Finish), ensuring industrial feasibility and scalability for commercial production. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including specifications, test protocols, study reports, development files, and other project-related documents in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience :
• Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• Initial experience gained through internships, academic projects, research activities, or relevant industrial experience.
• Strong interest in new product development, packaging innovation, medical devices, and manufacturing technologies.
• Good understanding of materials, polymers, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles applied to technical problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (minimum C1 level); a good command of French is highly desirable.
• Experience in Print & Finish technologies (packaging printing, decoration, and finishing processes) would be considered a strong asset.
• Experience with CAD software is desirable; expertise in a specific design package is not required. • Proactive, hands-on, and collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional and international environments.
