Senior IT Epic Manager (IT Delivery Lead)

The P&C department of the IT division is seeking to appoint a Senior IT Epic Manager (IT Delivery Lead).

Within AXA Belgium, the IT P&C department is responsible for the day-to-day management, security, technical and functional evolution of the P&C insurance applications and systems (Fire, Motor, Miscellaneous Risks) for our customers, partners or employees.   

AXA Belgium is looking for a Senior IT Epic Manager to lead major functional and technical transformations within P&C IT. Your initial assignment will focus on Retail Claims, with potential future assignments across retail and commercial lines.

Your responsibilities as Senior IT Epic Manager:

• (As an initial assignement) Structure and lead the program and the delivery team that fundamentally transforms the IT systems, covering the following scope :
• A new claims platform for broker, partner & employees
• Partner-facing APIs enabling brokers or other distributor partners to submit and manage retail & motor commercial lines claims throughtheir own platform, integrated with AXA
• The decommissioning of the legacy systems at the end of the transformation
• The size of investment is around 3 Mio€ spread on two Years and you will report to the feature manager Claims.
• Build, prioritise and manage the backlog of the team in partnership the business owner :
• The features being part of the business transformation program
• The dependencies of the program on other IT teams
• The technical activities touching the products under ownership of the team (application, services, API) : evergreen upgrades, security updates and fixes, performance and resilience improvements, production observability, …
• The impacts due to peripherical initiatives impacting the products under ownership of the team (new business, new partner, legal requirements, …)
• Negotiate effectively the incremental development of solutions and commit to these intermediate deliveries (Agile).
• Coordinate dependencies across IT and business teams.
• Ensure that products are ready for sustainable business-as-usual operation.
• Quality of service, observability, performance, finops, …
• Report on scope, milestones, budget, risks and quality (at business & IT level)
• Coach teams and Scrum Masters to improve delivery maturity
• Collaborate & communicate effectively with the sponsor and the various stakeholders.

Your skills and experience:

• At least 5 years' experience in project management and IT team management. You have worked in an agile organisation.
• Experience in managing functional projects, with good understanding of the business context and objectives.
• Understand the E2E business architecture and the impacts of this architecture on the team and the dependencies with other teams.
• Understand IT infrastructure (Cloud, AWS), integration design concepts, event-driven architecture, BPM/process orchestration, security principles and the software development life cycle.
• French or Dutch and English
• The following would be an advantage
• Knowledge of the insurance sector
• Experience using AI-enabled tools or practices to improve software delivery
