Chief Blockchain Architect (Layer 1)

Luxium AG | Zug, Switzerland

Luxium AG is building a next-generation Layer 1 blockchain and is seeking an exceptional Chief Blockchain Architect to design the protocol from first principles and define its long term technical vision.

Its economic model uses structured pricing tiers based on Fibonacci logic, operating independently of human decision making, and a first of its kind mobile consensus protocol allows everyday devices to take part in network validation. Luxium builds infrastructure designed to remain relevant for decades, not trends that fade in years.

Responsibilities

Design the core architecture of a new Layer 1 blockchain.

Define consensus mechanisms, validator models and network architecture.

Balance scalability, security and decentralization.

Translate conceptual ideas into an implementable technical architecture.

Prepare clear architecture documentation.

Identify technical risks and architectural trade offs.

Collaborate closely with founders and the engineering team.

Help shape the future technical organization and hiring roadmap.

Requirements

Strong experience in blockchain architecture or distributed systems.

Deep understanding of Layer 1 protocol design and consensus mechanisms.

Strong knowledge of distributed computing, network security and blockchain cryptography.

Ability to architect complex systems from first principles.

Excellent analytical thinking and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience designing or contributing to Layer 1 protocols.

Protocol engineering experience.

Experience with Rust, Go, C++, or similar system-level languages.

Experience designing secure distributed systems.

Open-source blockchain contributions.

Experience working with early-stage protocol architecture.

Engagement

The collaboration begins with an architecture-focused phase to define the protocol’s foundations before full-scale implementation.

We are open to:

Project based collaboration

Short term architecture engagement

Part time senior involvement

Transition into a long term technical leadership role

Compensation & Relocation

We value exceptional talent and are prepared to structure a compensation package that reflects world-class expertise, proven experience, and long-term commitment.

Compensation is highly competitive and tailored to the successful candidate’s experience, expertise, and level of responsibility. Depending on the role, the package may include:

Competitive salary

Performance-based incentives

Equity participation

Luxium token allocation

For candidates joining us from outside Switzerland, relocation to the Zug area will be required. Luxium AG will fully support the relocation process to ensure a smooth transition.

Why Join Luxium?

Design a Layer 1 blockchain from the ground up.

Influence fundamental protocol and architectural decisions.

Work directly with the founders.

Join a Swiss-based company with a global vision.

Build technology designed for long-term impact rather than short-term trends.

Opportunity to grow into a core technical leadership position.
