Swisslinx is seeking an experienced Data Management & Governance Analyst for a full-time, two-year contract (chance to extend up to five years) with a well-established international financial institution in the Basel region.

Job description:

  • Support the implementation of data governance frameworks, policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, business stakeholders and technical teams to address data-related challenges.
  • Identify data quality gaps, recommend remediation measures and document progress.
  • Analyse data to uncover trends, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards that communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate initiatives including data clean-up activities, process reviews and tool rollouts.
  • Document data processes, workflows and good practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to management reporting and identify potential data management risks.
  • Apply digital tools and automation techniques to enhance data governance and quality practices.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant technologies, external standards and industry developments.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide data initiatives, helping the organisation strengthen its data governance, management and quality practices. The position combines hands-on data analysis with stakeholder engagement and offers significant exposure to business and technical teams across an international environment.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Three to five years’ experience in data management, data governance, data analytics or a closely related field.
  • Practical knowledge of data management frameworks, master data management and data quality standards.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical, strategic-thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written English, with the ability to prepare clear reports and documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

Nice to Have

  • Experience within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
  • Previous experience as a data owner, data steward or management consultant on significant data engagements.
  • A recognised professional certification in data governance or data management.

Please note interviews would be conducted via video call (max two rounds), however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
