AVA Biochem AG is a young, innovative Swiss technology company active in the field of bio-based chemistry with headquarters in Zug and laboratories and production facilities in Muttenz. To strengthen and support our Engineering team in Zug or Muttenz, we are looking for a reliable, competent and well-organized personality as of June 1st, 2023 or by appointment for Senior Chemical Engineer / Senior Project Engineer 100% Your main duties:

•

Identify and develop working relationships with AVA's wider R&D community, production, sales, business development, support functions, third party laboratories, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, contract manufacturers and partners

•

Ownership and development of technical drawings, models, process books, calculations, and technical and economical simulations

•

Hands-on process development and scale-up including planning, coordinating, designing, conducting, interpreting, extrapolating, simulating and reporting data and results from laboratory scale and pilot scale experiments

•

Analyse and interpret data from different process units to optimise process and economic performance for industrial scale-up

•

Identify, document and protect new intellectual property

•

Support and execute engineering design aspects of the staged industrialisation of process plants; estimation of costs and support on all related strategy work

•

Industry screening for upstream- and downstream processes and technologies

•

Providing technical support to production team, including troubleshooting, specifying operation parameters and investigating opportunities for process optimization Requirements and skills:

•

Academic degree in chemical engineering

•

At least 4 years of well-rounded industrial work experience, ideally in the development and improvement of new and existing chemical process technologies from lab and pilot scale to industrial plants

•

Ability to apply fundamental chemical engineering principles to understand and develop a process at a molecular level

•

Experience with and good understanding in process simulation and process modelling, e.g. VBA and Python, including kinetic, separation and economic models

•

Self-motivated teamplayer and able to contribute critically and proactively with technical inputs to projects within the organisation

•

Project management experience

•

Ability to work and deliver systematically, within deadlines and under minimal supervision on assigned tasks

•

Ability to interact with industrial partners and their engineering teams

•

Ability in a link function to gather, provide and manage technical information in an interdisciplinary environment

•

Experience in liquid extraction processes, crystallisation, purification, concentration and screening for alternative technologies and solvents

•

Experience in bio-based industries and 2nd generation feedstock preferred

•
